*YOUR PATH TO HEALING STARTS WITHIN*

At Inner Eye Acupuncture, we believe that true healing begins with the power that you hold within. Through personalized acupuncture treatments, we help guide this innate knowing, to shift your body and mind toward balance, renewal, and lasting well-being.

Hello, I’m Cheyanne.

I’m an acupuncturist based in San Francisco, CA.

Maybe you’re familiar with and already love acupuncture, or maybe it’s a whole new world of medicine you’ve only begun to explore. Wherever you are in your healing journey, I would love to join you.

My interest in acupuncture began when I was  growing up with a family member struggling with chronic pain and fatigue that persisted despite the tools provided by Western medicine.  Acupuncture helped more than anything else ever had, and I was immediately drawn in by this powerful healing art.

My personal and professional hope is to nurture connection and healing in my community, and to be part of the movement that shifts our healthcare from feeling transactional into feeling transformative. Acupuncture therapy is one of the best ways I know to do that.

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a holistic form of healing and self-care that has been practiced for at least 3,000 years. It grew out of ancient Daoist philosophies, and applies the cosmic forces of yin and yang to the body just as they are at play throughout the universe. Disease and disharmony are caused by imbalances of these dualistic and complementary forces, and the goal of TCM is to work towards homeostasis, and restore the person to health.

Services

Acupuncture

Acupuncture therapy works on both a physiological and energetic level. Very thin, sterile, and single use needles are gently placed along the energy pathways called meridians, and this creates movement of “qi” or energy. This movement stimulates improved circulation,  pain relief, decreased inflammation, and nervous system regulation.

Cupping

30 minute cupping sessions are available either standalone or added on to a full acupuncture treatment. Cupping is great for post-workout recovery or chronic pain in the larger muscles, as well as immune-boosting and detoxification. It can be performed in specific and stationary areas, or as ‘moving-cupping’ depending on the intensity that would be beneficial and comfortable for each case. It can vary as not painful to slightly painful for some, but subsides as stagnation and toxins are released. Temporary bruising may occur, but diminishes within a week or so.

Gua Sha

Gua Sha translates to “sand scraping” and refers to a rubbing or scraping motion done with a small smooth-edged tool that brings up what is called the ‘sha’. Western medicine refers to the sha as petechiae, and it appears on your skin as small pinpoint dots of various colors (like sand). This sha is stagnant energy and inflammation being drawn out, which improves circulation, releases muscle tension such as neck and shoulder pain, and relieves cold and fever. It is generally not painful, but it does cause bruising that usually fades within a few days.

Moxibustion

I integrate moxibustion into many treatments as long as there isn’t  sensitivity to the light smoke it creates. This is a technique that uses an herb called Mugwort, in either stick or loose form, and the heated herb is placed near acupuncture points and body areas to warm, nourish and stimulate. Examples of conditions responsive to moxibustion include but are not limited to: menstrual cramps, breached baby positioning, digestive issues such as constipation, insomnia, anxiety, and chronic pain.

Celluma Light Therapy

I offer 30 minute light therapy sessions either standalone or added to a treatment. This is an infrared and near- red light therapy that penetrates through skin and stimulates cell regeneration. Common ailments it addresses includes but is not limited to: muscle pain, skin concerns such as acne and wrinkles, and insomnia.

  • My focus is to provide the most thoughtful care possible for every one of my clients, and as a solo practitioner this kind of care is only possible when I remove the stressors of having insurance companies approve treatments and me needing to seek reimbursement. My hope is that our client-practitioner relationship stays rooted in trust and openness, and I can only do this if I avoid the distress and burnout of dealing with the insurance industry.
